How would you describe your approach to counselling and therapy?
I work from a non-diagnostic, evidence-based framework that focuses on values, psychological flexibility, and solution-focused change.
Are our sessions confidential?
Yes. Confidentiality is central to counselling practice, subject to legal and ethical limits.
How long is each session?
Sessions run for approximately 50–60 minutes.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. Secure telehealth sessions are also available.
What should I expect in the first session?
Beginning counselling can feel like an important step, and it’s natural to feel a little uncertain about what the first session will involve. The initial session is an opportunity for us to begin getting to know one another and to explore what has brought you to counselling at this time.
You are welcome to share as much or as little as you feel comfortable with. We may discuss the concerns or experiences you would like support with, any goals you may have for counselling, and what you hope might be different in your life over time. There’s no expectation to explain everything straight away. J
Many people find that simply beginning the conversation and feeling heard can be a helpful first step. Together we will consider what kind of support may be most useful and whether ongoing counselling feels like the right path for you.
What’s the difference between a counsellor and a psychologist?
Counselling and psychology both support mental health, but they come at it from slightly different angles. Counselling focuses on helping people work through life challenges, emotional difficulties, and patterns in the here and now, using practical, relational, and evidence-based approaches.
Psychology includes that work too, but has a stronger emphasis on formal diagnosis, psychological testing, and treatment of more complex or severe mental disorders.
What is the distinction between Counselling and Therapy (or Psychotherapy)
Counselling typically focuses on short-term, specific, and current issues like grief or life transitions, while therapy (psychotherapy) is generally long-term, deeper work addressing deep-seated patterns, personality structures, and mental health conditions. Both are talk-based, professional, and supportive, but therapy offers a broader, more intensive approach to restructuring deep-rooted psychological issues
What is your cancellation policy?
